The Paleo diet has become a fad across the US as a way to shred pounds and keep them off. This new fad, however, is rather ancient. Research indicates that eating paleo is the only way to eat which works alongside our genetics to create a healthier physique.
This diet is one of the simplest diets out there. It all revolves around one word,Paleolithic. Paleolithic literally refers to the early periods of the Stone Age. Anything Paleo is allowed, so anything a caveman would have found accessible is permitted.
The Paleo diet requires the person to stay away from any foods that have been processed, packed, wrapped, etc. Anything that can be found in the wild would be allowed. A typical paleo plate would consist of two-thirds vegetables, one serving of fruit (carbs), one serving of meat, and a serving of healthy fats such as nuts or avocados. With the paleo diet most carbs (energy) will come from fruits rather than bread or pasta, which are processed.
On the bright side, dieters are given one cheat day a week where they can feast on whatever they’ve been craving the other six days of the week. Having a cheat day helps people stay mentally strong and focused on their eating habits.
Having a cheat day will not hurt the results, it actually will improve them. This is because when someone is constantly eating low calories their metabolism slows down, but when they have a high caloric intake one day a week this reboosts their metabolism and helps them burn more fat.
